The University of Hawaii plans to honor new faculty members tonight who were hired to undertake strategic interdisciplinary initiatives focusing on island and coastal sustainability and Native Hawaiian advancement, a news release says.
The new faculty will have the opportunity to synergize and promote interdisciplinary research, teaching, and outreach that address important aspects of island life, and thereby strive to maintain the qualities of life that make Hawaii unique.
The invitation-only event is presented by the Hawaiinuiakea School of Hawaiian Knowledge and UN Sea Grant College Program.
