Just got into the federal courthouse for a hearing about the city’s $5.26 billion rail project.

This is the case in which former Hawaii Gov. Ben Cayetano and others said the city and county of Honolulu didn’t do its due diligence before moving ahead with building the 20-mile rail line.

Basically, the claim is the studies supporting the project were flawed.

Now Cayetano and his co-plaintiffs have been seeking an injunction to stop the project.

The city and federal government say that’s unnecessary, and are hoping the judge allows them to keep building while updating the paperwork.

Here’s our latest article to catch you up on the case.
