R5AY, also known as Honey Girl, had a fishing hook stuck in her cheek and was found severely emaciated and covered in algae by NOAA officials off Oahu’s Sunset Beach.
She was unable to eat fish because of the hooking and medical professionals removed about one-third of her tongue.
Honey Girl was released last week and according to NOAA’s map of her movements, she appears to be doing very well:
