Former Hawaii Gov. Ben Cayetano outspent Honolulu Mayor-elect Kirk Caldwell in the two weeks leading up to the Nov. 6 general election.

But even that wasn’t enough to help him overcome the former city administrator in the race for the Honolulu Mayor’s Office.

According to his most recent campaign spending information, Cayetano spent about $263,000 in the final push.

That’s about one-third more than Caldwell spent in that same time.
