Noise pollution. It’s a common complaint in urban environments, and one might think that quiet vehicles would be seen as a good thing. 

But the stealth sound of electric vehicles is raising safety concerns and the National Traffic Safety Administration is planning to begin phasing in new rules that require minimum sound levels for electric and hybrid cars beginning in 2016.
