Hawaii legislators are considering Bill 33, which would make permanent a statute that prohibits outdoor urinating and defecating in downtown Honolulu.
The law is set to expire Dec. 31, 2014.
Bill 33’s introducer is Rep. Karl Rhoads, whose district includes downtown, an area with a large homeless population and few public bathrooms.
