The state Elections Commission announced today that Chief Elections Officer Scott Nago won’t be fired.
The Commission had been investigating why two dozen Oahu polling places ran out of ballots last general election. Some — including state Sen. Sam Slom — had called for Nago’s termination, citing severe administrative flaws.
Commission Chair William Marston said that, while mistakes had been made, they weren’t all at the fault of Nago.
