The popular snorkeling spot has been closed due to what city officials called ‘high and dangerous surf.’

Ocean Safety officials assessed the area Saturday morning and advised the city park’s department to close it at 9 a.m. The situation will be reassessed Sunday morning, according to a press release.

The surf, roughly 4-6 ft., has created extremely strong rip currents inside the reef making it very dangerous for swimmers and snorkelers,” the news advisory said. “There is also zero visibility underwater.”
