The Hawaii teachers union president sounded optimistic in a video message updating members on contract negotiations.

HSTA and the state went back to the bargaining table today to try to reach an agreement to end the ongoing labor dispute

Teachers are in their second year working under a contract the governor imposed. They play to hold a big sign-waving rally Jan. 31 at the Capitol Building to try to put pressure on the state to resolve the issue.
