Honolulu Police shot and killed the driver of a pick-up truck early Tuesday morning after a chase through the Waikiki area.  Read details of the drama in this Hawaii News Now story.

The incident began when police saw the truck driving the wrong way on Nahua Street near Kuhio Avenue. They tried to stop him but say he accelerated toward officers, who opened fire. Several officers also were wounded, apparently when they were struck by the vehicle.

Ala Wai Boulevard and connecting streets were re-opened just before noon.
