A giant squid!

Often the subject of legend, Japanese scientists and broadcasters have captured video footage of a massive squid for the first time.

The squid, found in the North Pacific, is nine feet long. If it hadn’t been missing its two longest tentacles it would have measured 26 feet long. Read more about it on Discovery News.

The Discovery Channel is broadcasting a segment on the squid later this month.
