Hawaii House Speaker-elect Joe Souki today announced leadership assignments and committee chair positions that lawmakers will assume when the next legislative session opens Wednesday.

The House has been in flux since Souki formed a coalition with Republicans to oust Calvin Say, the longest serving speaker in state history. Say threw his support behind Rep. Marcus Oshiro to be speaker, but he was only able to round up 18 of the 26 votes needed.
