The Honolulu Police Department just released how much additional money it spent on President Barack Obama’s recent visit to Oahu.
According to HPD, providing additional security for the president cost $214,728 in overtime costs.
HPD does not track how much it spent on regular salaries since that money would be paid out anyway.
This year’s presidential vacation cost more than last year’s. Data from HPD shows that Obama’s Christmas visit from Dec. 16, 2011-Jan. 2, 2012 cost $130,960.73 in overtime for 47 officers.
