The Senate Committee on Public Safety, Intergovernmental and Military Affairs on Thursday (Feb. 28) will consider the governor’s picks for the Board of Directors of the Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems.

They include former Gov. George Ariyoshi, who has long advocated fro Hawaii’s role in space exploration, and Henk Rogers of the Blue Planet Foundation.

The center, known as PISCES, is part of the University of HawaiiIt’s dedicated to “the development, verification and validation of new technologies needed for operations on the Moon, Mars and beyond.”
