Bill: Restrict Leaf Blowers To Two Hours

That’s what House Bill 1041 calls for. Specifically:

Restricts the use of leaf blowers to two hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on any day. Makes it illegal to operate a gasoline-powered leaf blower within a residential zone unless the operator is personnel of a licensed business.

HB 1041, which has a hearing Tuesday (Feb. 19), is sponsored by Rep. Takashi Ohno, whose district includes leafy Nuuanu, Pauoa, Liliha and Alewa Hieghts.
