The Hill reports that votes on gun control measures in the Senate Judiciary Committee scheduled for today was delayed a week. 

Senate Republicans have delayed a Judiciary Committee markup of gun violence legislation for one week, giving lawmakers more time to strike a deal on background checks.

Sens. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) have been working on a proposal to expand background checks to cover private gun sales.
