The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the island of Kauai at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday.
The warning has been extended until 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.
At 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, moderate to locally heavy rain continues to fall along northern and windward areas of Kauai.
Other locations in the warning include, but are not limited to Haena, Wainiha, Na Pali State Park, Moloaa, Kalalau Valley, Princeville, Kilauea, Kapa’a, Hanalei and Anahola.
A flash flood warning means flash flooding is imminent or occurring in streams, roads and low lying areas. Move to higher ground now.
Hanalei Elementary School will be closed on Wednesday due to dangerous road conditions and the closure of the Hanalei Bridge. Read the full story.
