From a press statement Monday (April 22):

After receiving House Bill 1133 from the state Legislature, Gov. Neil Abercrombie today signed the measure into law, thereby repealing chapter 171C, Hawaii Revised Statues, relating to the Public Land Development Corporation (PLDC).

Gov. Abercrombie stated:

“As with any new law, public understanding and support are essential. In the case of the PLDC, best intentions and the potential for public good could not be reconciled with public concerns.”
