The Hawaii Public Charter Schools Network will be hosting a gala this Friday to honor the state’s visionaries and award-winning charter schools.

The 2nd annual fundraising gala is titled “Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future.”

Among those spotlighted at the event will be two charter schools that were given $100,000 in Strive HI awards, Sen. David Ige, Rep. Ken Ito and Hawaii Tourism Authority President and CEO Mike McCartney, who is also a former state senator. The gala will be recognizing the lawmakers for their roles in passing charter school legislation.

When: May 3, 2013 @ 6 p.m.

Where: Hawaii Prince Hotel

Cost: Tickets cost $150 each. Sponsorship packages are also available.
