Honolulu was ranked number three for traffic congestion among cities in the U.S. and North America.
TomTom released its 2012 Congestion Index on Friday, which measures traffic congestion in 161 cities across five continents and compares it to congestion levels in 2011.
Los Angeles is the most congested city in North America, according to the report. On average, travel times in Los Angeles are 33 percent longer than when it is flowing freely and 77 percent longer during evening rush hour.
Vancouver came out ahead of Honolulu on the list.
Travel times in Honolulu are 30 percent longer than when traffic is freely flowing. The report says the delay per hour when driving during a peak period is 36 minutes. For a 30-minute commute, the delay per year is 86 hours. …
