Sen. Mazie Hirono tweeted:

Hirono’s was among statements Hawaii’s delegation released about the explosion. In addition to those released by Reps. Colleen Hanabusa and Tulsi Gabbard, Sen. Brian Schatz also sent out this statement:
The tragedy in Boston is one that we will never forget. I can’t help but think of the families that lost loved ones or the victims that are recovering from such a senseless act of violence. As we reflect on what happened over the days and months ahead, we must remain united when our fellow citizens need us most and remember what is truly important in life- our loved ones.
I have full confidence in our President, the FBI and local officials to get to the bottom of what exactly happened and who was responsible for causing pain to hundreds of Americans. I thank the first responders who rushed to the scene, and I ask that you join me in praying for the people of Boston and the marathon participants from across the globe, as we mourn this attack on our great nation.
