It’s Earth Day! And in a tribute to the holiday, the University of Hawaii at Manoa is unveiling a website whose mission is to celebrate the campus’s trees — more than 3,000 of them, to be precise.

A group of UHM students and landscapers got together to build an interactive map that charts the more than 475 tree species that sprawl throughout the campus. The Dead Rat, Sausage and Canon Ball trees are some highlights. 

But that’s just the beginning. Users can navigate the site in various ways, narrowing down which trees are shown by species, type or geographic location. Search options include native, endangered, poisonous and medicinal trees. Users can also look for the trees in their areas by clicking the “Where Am I?” link.
