Lawmakers representing the finance and economic development committees today deferred House Bill 70, which proposed pilot projects such as a Maui film studio and would’ve also extended the sunset date for the High Technology Innovation Corporation.
The decision not to move forward with HB 70 comes on the heals of a unanimous Senate vote to repeal the beleaguered Public Land Development Corporation. Gov. Neil Abercrombie this week signed the repeal measure, House Bill 1133, into law.
