A female suspect who was in police custody made a run for it at Honolulu District Court this afternoon. But she was wearing shackles and didn’t get far. This just in from the Department of Public Safety:
At approximately 2:25 p.m. Elloise Ysaol and 5 other females were being moved into courtroom 7C at District Court. They were in the hallway on the secured side, between the holding cells and the courtrooms when Ysaol bolted into an emergency exit. She was wearing shackles. Sheriff Deputies secured the building and began the search. Ysaol was caught in the stairwell at the 11th floor at approximately 3 p.m.
She was an overnight arrest from HPD. Her charge was Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle (UEMV).
She will be charged with Attempted Escape.
