It might not be illegal to feed the pigeons in Hawaii if Gov. Abercrombie vetoes the bill that would make it a crime to do so.

The feral birds bill is one of nine bills that the governor is looking to ax within the next 10 days.

Abercrombie released his list of potential vetoes Monday, giving lawmakers a legally required heads-up on what legislation he plans to kick back to them.

The other bills that made the list include: HB 763 (building code), SB 1265 (contracts), HB 988 (native wildlife), HB 424 (timeshare conveyances), HB 654 (nursing), HB 1130 (HHSC), SB 3 (OHA) and SB 68 (sentencing).

Abercrombie is expected to release a list of the reasons why he might veto those bills later today. Check out Civil Beat for the full story.
