This just in on National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden:

Yes, he’s officially fired from his job — and no, he didn’t make $200,000 when he was there.

That’s according to the defense contracter he worked for, Booz Allen Hamilton, which today updated a statement it had initially issued Sunday.

The statement says Snowden was fired yesterday “for violations of the firm’s code of ethics and firm policy.”

It also confirms that Snowden’s salary was $122,000 — not $200,000, which is what he had reportedly told The GuardianIt’s unclear what caused the mix-up.

Booz Allen’s stock plunged after the news broke Sunday, falling 5 percent.
