It’s never too soon to start thinking about the future.
And when it comes to raising campaign cash Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell seems to be a strong believer in that mantra.
The mayor’s announced three campaign fundraisers in the month of July, with the next one scheduled tonight at Vino at Restaurant Row downtown.
Since April, Caldwell has planned seven fundraisers, many of them at fancy locales, such as the Halekulani, 3660 On The Rise and the Waialae Country Club.
The suggested donation has ranged from $500-$4,000. Tonight’s soiree has a $500 a head asking price.
Caldwell was nearly a quarter million dollars in debt after the November election.
