Quitting time comes early Honolulu city workers today due to tropical storm Flossie.

Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell just told Civil Beat partner KITV that non-essential workers can go home at 3 p.m.

It’s just the latest update as Oahu prepares for Flossie, which is expected to be downgraded from a tropical storm to a depression by the time it arrives in Honolulu.

The city has already announced it will open up 10 emergency shelters starting at 3 p.m. Here’s a list of those shelters:

  • Waianae District Park
  • Wahiawa District Park
  • Ewa/Mahiko District Park
  • Kailua District Park
  • Kilauea District Park
  • Kokohead District Park
  • Waimanalo District Park
  • Waialua Church Christ
  • BYU Hawaii
  • Kalakaua District Park
