Hawaii representatives announced federal funding for a number of programs in the state.

The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii will be receiving $111,557 from the National Park Service to help educate the public about the Honouliuli Japanese Internment Camp on Oahu, said Rep. Colleen Hanabusa.

Hawaii will also be receiving more than $2 million in grant awards from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to help homeless and at-risk veterans, Hanabusa said.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard also said Hawaii health centers will also be receiving $1.2 million in grant awards to enroll the uninsured in new health coverage options made available by the Affordable Care Act.  The money will fund 21 additional workers to help 21,516 people enroll into health coverage.
