A tropical depression that formed between Hawaii and Mexico on Wednesday has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Flossie, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Tropical Storm Flossie is about 2,155 miles east of Honolulu.
Maximum sustained winds are 40 mph and the storm is moving west at 16 mph.
Forecasters expect strengthening Thursday (July 25), along with an increase in forward speed, putting Flossie intro Central Pacific waters this weekend.
