Honolulu City Councilmember Ikaika Anderson announced today (Thursday, Aug. 8) that he is in the race to represent Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District in Washington, D.C.
Anderson announced at Kakaako Waterfront Park in Honolulu. He currently holds the position of vice-chair of the Council.
Civil Beat will report later today on Anderson’s candidacy and how the CD1 race is shaping up. State Rep. Mark Takai, state Sen. Will Espero and Councilman Stanley Chang are also in the running. All are Democrats.
