Gov. Neil Abercrombie is calling the Hawaii Legislature into special session Oct. 28 to hear same-sex marriage legislation.

UPDATE: The announcement came at 1 p.m. today at a press conference at the state Capitol

Abercrombie said he expects the special session will last roughly five days. The latest draft of the “marriage equity” bill has a Nov. 18 effective date.
