Civil Beat broke the news today that a professor shortage was putting about two dozen University of Hawaii at Manoa seniors off-track to graduate. The university couldn’t find an instructor to teach a course required for the students, who are training to be dietitians as part of a rigorous undergraduate program.

Much to students’ relief, the crisis was solved this morning after the department chair, who had been scrambling in recent days to plug the shortage, found a lecturer to teach the course. Chair Douglas Vincent says the class will go on, meaning that the seniors can plan on getting their degree as scheduled in May 2014.
