That’s the topic of tonight’s (Thursday, Aug. 5) “Insights” on PBS Hawaii. Show promo:
Emotions are high over the use of pesticides and genetically modified organisms, or GMOs, on Hawaii farms. Farmers who rely on GMOs say they can’t farm without them. Consumers say they want more information. Are GMOs safe for consumers? Are companies giving consumers enough information?
On the next INSIGHTS, we ask, should GMOs have a place in Hawaii’s Agriculture? Host Dan Boylan‘s guests include: Gary Hooser, Kauai County Councilman; Ken Kamiya, President, Kamiya Gold Papaya Farm; Lynette Larson, general manager of Kokua Market; and Senator Clarence Nishihara, Chairman, Senate Agriculture Committee.
