Roger Christie, the Hilo “Pot Minister” who recently pleaded guilty to trafficking marijuana through his THC Ministry, will have to forfeit his Hilo apartment and about $22,000 in cash.

The U.S. Attorney filed paperwork today saying the cash and apartment at 360 Kauila St. are proceeds derived from illegal activity and thus subject to forfeiture. The cash was seized from Christie’s residence when he was arrested on March 10, 2010, according to the preliminary order of forfeiture.

After spending the last three years in a federal detention center and still no trial, Christie pleaded guilty last month to using his pot ministry to distribute marijuana. Christie had long argued that marijuana was smoked and passed around as part of religious ceremonies.
