As a friendly reminder to our readers, our first Civil Cafe opens tomorrow at 6 p.m. Our guest is Randy Roth, who will talk about the price of civic engagement.

Roth will lead a discussion on the impact a life of civic engagement has had on him. He has been at the forefront of several of the most talked-about issues of the last decade or so in Hawaii, including rail and Bishop Estate. For more info on Roth and the event, click here.

The event is free, and will be aired via livestream on Civil Beat. Parking is available in the building for $4, otherwise there is ample street parking. Although it’s free, please kokua and RSVP here so we can get an accurate head count. Dozens are already expected to arrive!

There will also be a live chat function where one of our staff will live blog the event, as well as receiving questions to ask Roth. No additional sign up will be necessary, however you can log in using various online accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Google or Yahoo!.

Hope to see you tomorrow, and if not, join in the conversation! For a preview on how the chat will work tomorrow, test it out below, and talk story with me for now.
