U.S. Senate Strikes Deal to End Shutdown, Raise Debt Ceiling

It appears the U.S. Congress is close to ending the government shutdown, now in Day 16, and raising the debt ceiling, which faces a Thursday deadline.

The Hill is reporting that Senate leaders have crafted a bipartisan deal, and the House is expected to vote on it soon.
