Calif.-based Property Development Centers bought the property in Kahului, Maui and intends to sell nearly half of the land to Target Inc.
The new Puunene Shopping Center is expected to create 250 construction jobs as well as 300 jobs once it is completed.
The developer plans to start construction right away and aims to open the mall in March 2015.
The shopping center will boost Kahului’s retail space by about 275,000 square feet and add about 1,425 parking stalls.
