The hearing will resume later today. How long will it take?
No one knows; several thousand are still signed up to testify in person. If they are not present when called, the House could pass them by — something that upsets some lawmakers (especially Marcus Oshiro) and many testifiers who feel that all citizens should be given the chance to speak out on gay marriage.
One thing is for sure: The crowd outside the Capitol Auditorium shows no signs of diminishing in size any time soon. House leadership has not said for certain what time they will conclude today’s business, or whether it may continue over the weekend and even into next week.
One other note: The hearing is NOT being televised today on Olelo via Capitol TV.
