Compared with other states, Hawaii has one of the best plans for mitigating the effects of climate change, according to a new report by the Columbia Law School’s Center for Climate Change Law.

The study found that 11 states, mostly coastal, include a thorough analysis of the impacts of climate change along with ways to respond in their statewide disaster response plans.

The other states that received top marks include California, Maryland, Massachusetts, Colorado, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Washington, New York and Alaska.
