Breaking News: One Dead in Plane Crash Off Molokai
A small commercial plane that serves the community of Kalaupapa has crashed off the coast of Molokai, killing one person. Eight others on the Makani Kai Air flight have been rescued, according to information from the Maui County Fire Department.
On the flight were Loretta Fuddy, director of Hawaii’s Department of Health, and her deputy director, Keith Yamamoto. Information about their conditions was not immediately available.
The governor’s office is expected to issue a statement later tonight.
