NASA to Launch ‘Flying Saucer’ From Kauai

Test will take place at U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility.

NASA plans to test its Low-Density Supersonic Decelerator (LDSD) project on Kauai later this week. 

NASA’s LDSD project is a rocket-powered, saucer-shaped landing technology test vehicle that has the ability to fly into near-space. 

The federal agency is set to launch the LDSD project starting June 28 and will launch four more tests throughout the week.

The tests will be carried live via UStream and simulcast on NASA Television.

In an unrelated matter, Hawaii has also made plans to reach out to extraterrestrial life by dedicating a UFO landing pad.

It’s located by the 1983 lava flow in Kalapana, according to West Hawaii Today. 

“It’s potentially controversial” said Garry Hoffeld, who is the coordinator for the reinstated Kingdom of Hawaii. “We’re not crazy; we’re open-minded.”
