U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz has spent nearly $4 million in his bid to stay in office, according to the latest campaign finance report he filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Between July 1 and July 20, Schatz’s pre-primary report shows he dropped another $550,941.01 on his campaign, mostly on advertising and other paid media.
He also added an additional $72,290.53 to his campaign coffers, bringing his total contributions to more than $4.9 million.
U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa’s pre-primary reports were not available on the FEC’s website as of Wednesday evening.
The FEC sent her a letter on July 28 notifying her that reports were past due and that she was in possible violation of federal campaign finance laws.
Hanabusa’s previous campaign spending report, which covers April 1 to June 30, showed that she had raised a total of more than $2.7 million for her campaign and spent about $2 million.
Schatz’s latest report shows he has just under $1 million in cash on hand.
