That’s right: Augie T will do free comedy show for the residents of Puna!

Where? Makuu Farmers Market.

When? Thursday at 6 p.m.

Why?

“Hearing about the conditions in Puna, Augie wanted to take the opportunity to go down there, help out the people, and do something to help lift their spirits,” says a press release. “He’ll be helping to distribute food, then performing.”

There’s more: “People can donate to help the efforts in their own way by donating to the charity ‘Puna Strong.’ Checks can be sent to First Hawaiian Bank and designated to ‘Puna Strong.'”

The press release also says a big mahalo to Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winner Mark Yamanaka, with sound provided by Fearless Hawaiian.

Puna, as we all know, is the area on the Big Island where storm recovery efforts continue.
