Our friends at KITV have the story:
Shark warning signs have been posted near Bellows Air Force Station in Waimanalo Friday afternoon, according to the city’s Emergency Services Department.
Two sharks, which are roughly 8 to 10 feet long, were spotted about 30 to 50 yards offshore.
The sharks were seen by an off-duty lifeguard on the shoreline. Officials say the sharks were aggressively thrashing in the water.
Ocean Safety received the call at around 2:15 p.m. and lifeguards immediately cleared the water.
The signs will remain up for the rest of the day. The area will be reassessed Saturday morning at around 9 a.m.
