The candidate registration deadline for City and County of Honolulu Neighborhood Board elections is next Friday, Feb. 20.

Residents wishing to register as a candidate must do so online or in person.

There are 437 seats on Oahu’s 33 Neighborhood Boards at stake this year, and the elections will take place in April or May. Boards members hold monthly meetings to address community concerns.

A Neighborhood Board serves as an advisory council that helps develop and deliver proposals to the Honolulu City Council to change city laws. Board members can help decide what happens in their community, like developments, businesses and other neighborhood laws.

Candidate registration forms must be postmarked by next Friday, or can be hand-delivered to the Neighborhood Commission Office at Honolulu Hale, Room 406, by 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 20.
