Pacific Business News has this item on plummeting gas prices in the islands. Excerpt:

The average price of regular gas in Honolulu hit an even $3 a gallon this week, the lowest it has been since June 2009, according to AAA Hawaii’s Weekend Gas Watch.

That was down 13 cents a gallon from just a week ago, 39 cents lower than a month ago, and 90 cents below a year ago, AAA Hawaii said.

That means that motorists are saving almost a buck a gallon heading into the new year, the result of a worldwide decline in the price of oil. …
