Tuesday was the 42nd day of the Hawaii Legislature’s 60-day session.
It was also the occasion for Reps. Beth Fukumoto Chang and Lauren Kealohilani Matsumoto to ask supporters for checks in the amount of $100.
The GOP reps, who represent the Mililani area on Oahu, held their fundraisers at the Hukilau restaurant downtown.

Fukumoto is the House minority leader and Matsumoto is a minority whip.
It is not illegal for state lawmakers to ask for campaign contributions even while they are voting on legislation that just might be of interest to certain donors.
The second decking of bills is Friday, with second crossover votes on legislation that is still alive set for next week.
