The hydroponics and aquaponics farm Mari’s Gardens and the state Department of Agriculture are holding an all-day conference about soilless agriculture on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The event will feature keynote speaker Marty Matlock, a University of Arkansas professor and the executive director of the university’s Office of Sustainability, who will discuss sustainability, aquaculture and aquaponics.

Aubrey Bettencourt, executive director of the California Water Alliance, will discuss water security and sustainability.
