It’s a glowing profile of the Hawaii congresswoman, a Democrat who represents the 2nd District and is a rising star in Washington.

The article’s author writes:

If ever a Republican won the White House … there’s a tradition of picking someone from the other side for one of your slots.

Indeed, it has been some of those last headline grabbers that has brought us here. That, and the nagging feeling that people have about this unusual second-termer.

Gabbard just smiles and says “maybe” when asked whether she would accept being secretary of defense or state. Or VP. Or president.

The article also raises speculation that Gabbard will one day run for the U.S. Senate, something she says she is not doing next year, when Brian Schatz is up again.
